WILD BLUE DENIM
“The contemporary teen is an avid shopper,” says Wild Blue Denim’s creative director Marlow Fox, affirming everything the parents of preteens already know. “Whether she is scouring the Internet for online shopping destinations, getting inspiration via her social media channels or walking around the mall, teens are consistently bombarded with new brands and products to try.” Accordingly, Fox, formerly of Guess and Gap, had to figure out how to make her youth-targeted collection stand out in a sea of trendy jeans. “We decided to curate our brand with the message of female empowerment, confidence, and authenticity,” she says. “What could be a better show of confidence than rocking the perfect pair of denim at a price you can’t beat?” Launched fall 2015 with the holiday 2015 addition of brand ambassador Sadie Robertson from reality show Duck Dynasty, Wild Blue creates overalls, custom designed plaids and knit denims that build on denim’s journey from the women’s civil right’s movement to the closet staple that it has become today. Currently only available at US-American fast fashion retailer rue21, Wild Blue specializes in outfitting young women in pairs of jeans retailing under $30 a pop, with dresses that can be bought for under $25. “With variations in cut, wash, and design that make all body types feel confident and empowered, we love being a part of that!” enthuses Fox.
